VINTEC is a biological fungicide based on Trichoderma atroviride strain SC1. This specific strain was isolated from wood and is an excellent wood colonizer. VINTEC is currently registered for the use against ESCA in grapevines, against Botrytis cinerea on grapes and fruiting vegetables and against Monilinia laxa and other pathogens on stone fruits. Several other uses are under development and new registrations are being obtained. Authorizations for use may differ between countries. Always comply with the instructions for use on the label.
Sero-X is a biological insecticide and contains a natural extract from the Butterfly Pea (Clitoria ternatea), a widespread tropical legume that is cultivated for a wide range of uses. Sero-X will be developed for use on thrips, mites and a wide range of other pests on fruits and vegetables.

BiPA is actively engaged in discovery and implementation of sustainable crop protection products through the participation to publicly funded research projects. We are proud to contribute to the knowledge in agriculture!
Among the most acute challenges that many producers of fruit and vegetable crops currently face are a subset of arthropod pest species - namely aphids, whiteflies, thrips and mites - that are extremely difficult to control (the “super pests”). These issues have been caused, in part, by the over reliance on synthetic insecticides and novel methods of control are urgently required. The SuperPests project aims to meet this need by developing and evaluating a suite of innovative products, tools and concepts, and integrating these with existing approaches in data driven Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programs.
Relacs stands for “Replacement of Contentious Inputs in Organic Farming Systems”. The Relacs project partners will evaluate far-advanced and new solutions to reduce the use of external inputs regarded as contentious and, if needed, develop and adopt cost-efficient and environmentally safe tools and technologies to:
- • Reduce the use of copper and mineral oil in plant protection
- • Identify sustainable sources for plant nutrition, and
- • Provide solutions to support livestock health and welfare
Interfuture project is training a new generation of scientists with complementary and interdisciplinary skills to consolidate a new technology platform merging academia and industry with the final aim to develop innovative plant protection and biofertilization tools across the training network. The early stage researchers will be exposed to the Academic sector at the beginning of their doctoral studies, so to foster the knowledge acquisition required to develop innovative ideas. Subsequently, early stage researchers will be seconded to the industrial sector to allow the translation of ideas into technology. The main objectives of the project are:
- • To overcome the bottlenecks in bio-based products application by exploring the ecology of microbe-host interaction at the community level
- • Improve existing microbial biofertilizers by exploiting the complementarities of nitrogen-fixing and growth promoting bacteria
- • To exploit natural molecules to shape plant-beneficial microflora and improve plant resilience to diseases
- • To develop novel volatile organic compounds of bacterial origin for the control of soilborne diseases
- • To design and develop innovative insect trapping strategies based on the activity of kairomones produced by microorganisms
